Family Photography: When Rain Falls
It was pretty all day, and on my third session of the day, I rolled up to the outdoor location and the sky opened up to give every thirsty plant a drink! Terrible timing! You never know how a client will react when mother nature takes over their session. Rainy day photography isn’t typically high on everyone’s session wish list. These amazing people just went along with it! I offered to shoot them at my portrait studio, which happens to be my favorite option for family photography. They were up for it and made the very best of it. They giggled, danced and played through the entire session. It was a serious joy among the dark clouds and rain. I think their smiles and giggles were heard so clearly that the sky could no longer be dark. The sun came out again just in time for the last portion of their session. It was kind of magical.
Always Do Your Best. Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret. – Don Miguel Ruiz
As a Seattle Family Photographer working with families of all ages, patience, and acceptance of things I cannot control is a job requirement for sanity. When I come across a family with the same attitude, it is music to my ears.
