Three Seattle Babies Turn One! Your Seattle Birthday Photographer
I recently had the honor of photographing all these little munchkins who just turned one!
You adorable little kids. You’re standing alone, taking the first steps, falling and getting back up. You’re taking new risks and giving your parents heart attacks. I remember feeling sad when Henley took his first steps. I was sad and happy (happy sad?). It was just all happening way too fast! I cried like a baby in my husband’s arms that night as I wondered if the rest would go this fast. News flash: it has. Thankfully, as a Seattle Birthday Photographer, I get to capture these milestones again and again.
I can’t help but imagine this is prepping you for the rest of your life. Your first year as a tiny baby is over. From here on out nothing is stopping you. The world is your oyster and you are going after it with all the laughter and exuberance that can fit within your little toddler body. The real excitement is about to begin, but just so you know, your parents will hold onto those precious days of your babyhood for the rest of their lives. And us parents will never apologize for it because you, our dear children, are our favorite things.
“Life is made up of a collection of moments that are not ours to keep. The pain we encounter throughout our days spent on this earth comes from the illusion that some moments can be held onto. Clinging to people and experiences that were never ours in the first place is what causes us to miss out on the beauty of the miracle that is the now. All of this is yours, yet none of it is. How could it be? Look around you. Everything is fleeting.
To love and let go, love and let go, love and let go…it’s the single most important thing we can learn in this lifetime.”
