Don’t Underestimate Your Worth
Seattle Newborn Photographer
Don’t underestimate yourself. Not your worth, not your value, not your capabilities. Not now, not ever.
How many times have you had someone come up to you and say you are strong?
How many times has someone walked up to you and said you are capable?
It’s more than believing in you, or telling you they’re proud of you. It’s naming exactly why you can overcome whatever challenge you’re facing. Maybe you’re a new mom. We can wax poetic all day about how amazing being a mom is, but we should never underestimate how hard it is. Somewhere out there, there’s a mom making coffee at 5am after sleeping 3 non-consecutive hours all night with her 6 week old child. She’s going back to work, and the reasons don’t matter much. I’d love to sit back and tell her stay home. Wait. Let your body rest for another 6 weeks because you deserve it, but that may not be her reality. So instead, I’m going to tell her she is strong. She will survive this, and she is an amazing mother. Don’t underestimate what she’s capable of.
Somewhere out there is a woman facing some hard choices. Her world might turn upside down, but she knows what’s right in her gut. She wants to run from herself, from her decisions and stay comfortable. But she knows she’s capable of more. She knows with great discomfort comes great growth. She is capable, and she is strong. She hugs her babies tighter and smiles with the wisdom of knowing she will survive.
No matter what hardship you’re facing I hope you know how strong and how capable you are, and that you are blessed with a circle of loved ones who will never underestimate you.
