3 Fun Rainy Day Activites!seattle photographer rainy day activitiesIt was hard to escape the news this morning for us Pacific Northwesterners. Rain, rain and more rain.

But you know what? You should never let this stop you from having some serious fun. Here are some great ideas for getting out there in the rainy day activities so you can get out there to dance and sing a little!

Let the stormy clouds chase.
Everyone from the place,
Come on with the rain
I have a smile on my face.
I’ll walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singin’, singin’ in the rain.

  • Go Play, Dance and Explore in the Rain

The world looks so different when it’s wet. This makes for a great conversation with your toddler! We brought a rubber ducky along to explore with us. We sent him down gutters and alleyways on tiny adventures.

  • Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

Take your old crayons and put like colors in a muffin tin and melt! Check out more fun details here. Kids will love watching these melt, and enjoy using their new creations to make some new artwork.

  • Build a Fort

The quintessential past time of all children: fort building! Is there anything more fun than pretending you’re camping or protecting a medieval castle with your kiddos? You can use blankets, sheets, towels, or cardboard boxes. Bring your flash light and you’ve got an indoor party on your hands. Need some more ideas? Check out 9 Creative Indoor Tents!

The greatest part of all of these activities is the memories you’re making with your kids. So get out there, or in there, make some memories, and take some pictures of it so your memories last a lifetime. Family photography is memories come to life. It’s a way of savoring those rainy, foggy, and sunshiny days. I am so excited to share this fun family photography session that took place on Mercer Island in Seattle, WA.
