You simply must check out this stunning modern and simple Newborn Photography Session that I did on Mercer Island.
We live in the dawn of a new era where keeping up with the Joneses’ no longer means simply eye balling your neighbor’s 57′ Chevy. No, we in the modern era have taken the idea of coveting they neighbor’s goods and thrown it all over the internet for everyone to partake in. We love our dealers of all things beautiful- Pinterest, instagram, facebook. They provide so many opportunities to idealize moments in our life that it’s hard to imagine them any other way.
I love inspiration, and sometimes we can draw amazing creative energy from websites. Yet we spend so much time wanting so desperately for things to be picture perfect that we can’t see them for how perfect they really are. I don’t want to be perfect. I want to be better than I was yesterday. I want my kid to make a mess so he can learn to clean it up. I want to have hilarious bloopers from our Christmas card photo shoot to give me something to smile about for years to come.
As we draw closer to the season where everyone wants to get that picture perfect moment, try to give yourself some breathing room. If you give yourself and your photographer some creative space, you’re more likely to get a beautiful product. It may not be what you had pictured straight from Pinterest, but it can be -your- perfect picture. After all, your perfect will always be someone else’s not enough or more than enough. So enjoy this time and create a perfectly imperfect life around you.
