The Art of Patience and Photography

Great Photography, takes Patience

It is not simply the ability to wait or to pass up instant gratification, its how we wait.

There is no waiting like there is for sunshine in Seattle. This sweet client of mine and I had to reschedule her session more than a few times to be able to be outside. It was worth it, like many other things when you have the patience to wait. What I loved about her was her amazingly positive attitude about it. It was no surprise that her muchkin was also the happiest baby I have ever met.

This session took place at the Paccar Pavillion, which is at the Olympic Sculpture Park – one of my favorite places to shoot. You can go inside if it gets too cold and be outside if the weather is right.

Patience is something I find I have mostly for my kiddo. I can wait a whole 15 minutes for him to get in the car and buckle up. I seem to have run out after that, however. I rarely have patience for myself, my husband, weight loss goals, personal growth… etc. I know that great things come when we are patient and persistent like my client was for this session, I wonder why it is so hard to have sometimes.

Seeing the photography that came out of her session is a great reminder.

It is worth the wait.

Enjoy this really fun session and this very happy baby!
