Modern, Crisp Winter Maternity Photographer
Like an old friend, I come into your home and hug you longer than I would normally. It’s been a while, my friend, but I am so glad to be back.
Hello, Photography Blog.
November and December whooooshed by me like a blur. I, like most family photographers, tread water in these months only wishing to come up for air, grasping onto a lift raft any chance we get. We do not see our families. We shop on Christmas Eve, the one day we have alone. We find ourselves on the downtown streets of our cities watching the stores close at 6 p.m. and wondering where our year went. The very familiar whoosh of the train passed me (a metaphor for the year if there ever was one) as I waited with my shopping bags and mustered the energy to wrap each of the presents I bought with a proper bow. Perhaps wrapping the gifts at the end of the year with a bow represents more than I even realized. Did we tie up all of our loose ends? Did we leave some gifts unnoticed, unwrapped? Perhaps we even forgot we purchased them. Yes, here I am.
Another year has passed, and we did not even have time for our own family photography.
This is my life. I do not regret it.
I love capturing the emotion, the soft and sweet, swift moments of love, nervousness and want of a joyful moment forever captured. I love what I do. I do get tired. I get run down. I also get renewed. Like you in your job. We, the people behind the lenses, are no different.
I am excited to leave 2016 behind and welcome 2017.
